Timoshenko beams with variable‐exponent nonlinearity
Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 2023In this paper, we consider the following Timoshenko system with a nonlinear feedback having a variable exponent and a time‐dependent coefficient . We establish, for the first time as per our knowledge, explicit energy decay rates for this system depending on both and .

BASICITY OF A PERTURBED SYSTEM OF EXPONENTS IN LEBESGUE SPACES WITH A VARIABLE SUMMABILITY EXPONENT
Baku Mathematical Journal, 2022In this paper a system of exponents 1 is considered, where is some polynomial of degree m, m ∈ N. It is proved that under certain conditions on the exponent p (·) the basicity of this system in a Lebesgue space with a variable summability exponent Lp(·) (−π, π) depends on the coefficient αm−1 and m.

Uniform Approximation by Polynomials with Variable Exponents
Canadian Journal of Mathematics, 1983We examine questions related to approximating functions by sums of the formWe focus on approximations to functions given by the integral transformationwhere γ is a positive measure. Approximations to this class of functions (Laplace transforms in the variable — lnx) are particularly well behaved (see Theorem 1).

Variable domains and variable relevance: interpreting phonetic exponents
Journal of Phonetics, 2003Abstract Spoken language is a resource which is systematically deployed in the management of social interaction, its primary site of occurrence. The patterns and structures in language are emergent properties of, and shaped by, the contingencies and demands of social interaction. However, despite significant advances in modeling speech perception and

Variable Exponent Lebesgue Spaces
2011In this chapter we define Lebesgue spaces with variable exponents, \(L^{p(.)}\). They differ from classical \(L^p\) spaces in that the exponent p is not constant but a function from Ω to \([1,\infty]\). The spaces \(L^{p(.)}\) fit into the framework of Musielak–Orlicz spaces and are therefore also semimodular spaces.

A variable-exponent taper equation
Canadian Journal of Forest Research, 1988A different approach to fitting taper equations has been developed, which eliminates the necessity of using several functions to predict diameter inside bark at different parts of the stem. The variable form taper function is easy to develop and saves computing time.
