Variable Exponent Function Spaces related to a Sublinear Expectation

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2020
In this paper, variable exponent function spaces Lp·, Lbp·, and Lcp· are introduced in the framework of sublinear expectation, and some basic and important properties of these spaces are given.

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Hölder Quasicontinuity in Variable Exponent Sobolev Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2007
We show that a function in the variable exponent Sobolev spaces coincides with a Hölder continuous Sobolev function outside a small exceptional set.

Developing evidence‐based, cost‐effective P4 cancer medicine for driving innovation in prevention, therapeutics, patient care and reducing healthcare inequalities

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The cancer problem is increasing globally with projections up to the year 2050 showing unfavourable outcomes in terms of incidence and cancer‐related deaths. The main challenges are prevention, improved therapeutics resulting in increased cure rates and enhanced health‐related quality of life.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Malliavin Derivatives in Spaces with Variable Exponents [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Function Spaces, 2014
Spaces with variable exponentsLpx(H,μ)andLpx(H,μ;H)are introduced. After discussing some approximation results ofLpx(H,μ), Sobolev spaces onHwith variable exponents are introduced. At last, we define Malliavin derivatives inLpx(H,μ)and discuss some properties of Malliavin derivatives inLpx(H,μ).

Multiplicity of solutions for an anisotropic variable exponent problem

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2022
In this manuscript an existence result for an anisotropic variable problem which is related to several applications is proved. By considering suitable hypotheses, the multiplicity of solutions is obtained.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Anisotropic Hardy-Lorentz Spaces with Variable Exponents [PDF]

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Mathematics, 2017
AbstractIn this paper we introduceHardy-Lorentz spaces with variable exponents associated with dilations in ℝn. We establishmaximal characterizations and atomic decompositions for our variable exponent anisotropic Hardy-Lorentz spaces.
