The Viability of the Refractory High‐Entropy Alloy AlMo0.5NbTa0.5TiZr for High‐Temperature Structural Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Refractory high‐entropy alloys have attracted substantial attention for future ultrahigh‐temperature structural applications. Here the progression of key phase transformations in AlMo0.5NbTa0.5TiZr is established and correlated to the mechanical performance, highlighting the importance of the B2 phase.

Spectrum for anisotropic equations involving weights and variable exponents

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2014
We study the problem $$ -\sum_{i=1}^{N}\Big[\partial_{x_{i}}\Big(|\partial_{x_{i}}u|^{p_{i}(x)-2} \partial_{x_{i}}u\Big) +|u|^{p_{i}(x)-2}u\Big]+|u|^{q(x)-2}u =\lambda g(x)|u|^{r(x)-2}u $$ in $\Omega$, $u=0$ on $\partial\Omega$, where $\Omega$ is ...

Spray Deposition for Solvent Annealing of Hybrid Poly(3,4‐Ethylenedioxythiophene) Polystyrene Sulfonate Cellulose Silver Nanowire Composite Electrodes Using a Roll‐to‐Roll Coater

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The fabrication and post‐treatment via solvent annealing of poly(3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate‐based electrodes using spray deposition in a roll‐to‐roll setup are presented. The decrease in sheet resistance and its correlation with nanostructure and molecular structure in the electrodes as a function of the processing parameters is ...

On the Rigidity and Mechanical Behavior of Triply Periodic Minimal Surfaces‐Based Lattices: Insights from Extensive Experiments and Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study examines the mechanical properties of triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS)‐based lattices, analyzing 36 architectures in elastic and plastic regimes. It evaluates the applicability of beam‐based scaling laws to TPMS lattices. Rigidity arises from the alignment of members with the load direction and solid regions preventing rotation.

Existence of solutions for fourth-order PDEs with variable exponents

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2009
In this article, we study the following problem with Navier boundary conditions $$displaylines{ Delta _{p(x)}^2u=lambda | u| ^{p(x)-2}u+f(x,u)quad hbox{in }Omega , cr u=Delta u=0quad hbox{on }partial Omega .

Effects of Creep in Titanium at Room Temperature during Tensile and Profilometry‐Based Indentation Plastometry Testing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article concerns room temperature tensile testing, with a range of (nominal) strain rates, of three titanium alloys. Stress–strain curves are analyzed to obtain creep characteristics. Profilometry‐based indentation plastometry testing is also covered, using different penetration velocities, and correlations established with tensile data.
