A novel adaptive variable forgetting factor RLS algorithm
2018 26th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2018As the demand for higher data rates increases steadily, there will always be a need to develop more efficient wireless communication systems. Adaptive channel equalizers need to be used to correct the disturbing effects of the channel resulting from the time-varying mobile communication channel.

Online estimation of complexity using variable forgetting factor
SICE Annual Conference 2007, 2007Recently, the utility of sample entropy (SampEn) as a complexity measure was shown via applying to time series data generated from in a variety of systems. However, online estimation method of SampEn index has not been developed yet. If SampEn can be estimated online, we can apply this index to time-varying system.

Variable forgetting factor estimation in impulsive noise environment
2014 22nd Telecommunications Forum Telfor (TELFOR), 2014In this paper, a new robust adaptive FIR filter algorithm with variable forgetting factor for time-varying parameters estimation in the presence of impulsive noise is discussed. The proposed algorithm is based on the robust recursive least square and extended prediction error variable forgetting factor adaptation algorithms.

Adaptive controllers with a vector variable forgetting factor
The 22nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1983This paper addresses the blow-up problem associated with the estimation part of an adaptive controller. A partial solution of the problem has been deviced by introduction of a variable forgetting factor. It does, however, not eliminate the blow-up possibility. This is shown by simultation experiments on two different models.

Variable Forgetting Factors in Parameter Estimation
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1982Abstract This paper is concerned with the influence of forgetting factors on the consistency of prediction error methods of identification. Based on the work of Ljung, a martingale approach is employed and it is shown that the incorporation of forgetting factors into standard on-line estimation algorithms can lead to a loss of system and parameter ...

An adaptive fuzzy-logic variable forgetting factor RLS algorithm
VTC-2005-Fall. 2005 IEEE 62nd Vehicular Technology Conference, 2005., 2006We propose a fuzzy forgetting factor recursive leastsquares (RLS) algorithm, in which a time-varying forgetting factor is chosen by a fuzzy inference system (FIS), to achieve a faster convergence rate and a lower steady-state meansquared error (MSE).
