Ionospheric Characterization Using VLF Whistlers

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Broadband very low frequency (VLF, 3–30 kHz) energy emitted from lightning travels long distances in subionospheric propagation modes. Some of this energy couples into the ionosphere and travels to satellite altitudes along a predominantly field‐aligned path in what is known as a “whistler” propagation mode. Along this path, these VLF signals (

Formation of Continuum Emission Structures Associated With the Aurora

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Recent observations enabled by improvements in geospace remote‐sensing instrumentation have revealed the spatial structure of continuum emissions that appear to be associated with the aurora, but little is known about the formation and drivers of these structures.

Exploring the Interior Structure of (16) Psyche Through Basin‐Scale Collisions

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Asteroid (16) Psyche, the largest member of the M/X‐type asteroids, may be the leftover core of a differentiated planetesimal. As such (16) Psyche will be explored in detail by NASA's discovery‐class Psyche mission in 2029. This will be the first mission to orbit a metal‐rich asteroid, or any asteroid in the 100–500 km size range.

Experimental Hypervelocity Dust Impacts in Olivine—Multiscale Insights Into Microcrater Shock and Melting Effects From Coordinated SEM/TEM Observations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The flux of solar system meteoroids is dominated by objects less than 1 mm in diameter whose impact effects play a major role in the space weathering of airless body surfaces. These effects remain poorly characterized with respect to their dependence on the range of impact speeds for meteoroids across the inner solar system.

Adolescence under fire: a multi‐method study of psychological vulnerability and resilience among adolescents impacted by war

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Volume 67, Issue 3, Page 366-379, March 2026.
Background Given the long‐term negative impact of exposure to military conflict, identifying its immediate psychological effects is crucial to develop prevention and intervention approaches, especially in adolescents, a group particularly vulnerable to mental health challenges. Methods We examined 198 war‐exposed Israeli adolescents (Mage = 16.35 years;
