Gradient and Hessian of functions with non-independent variables [PDF]
Mathematical models are sometime given as functions of independent input variables and equations or inequations connecting the input variables. A probabilistic characterization of such models results in treating them as functions with non-independent variables.

A Survey of Mathematical Models with Variable Quotas
In this paper, we shall survey recent developments in variable-internal-stores models with multiple resources or spatial/temporal inhomogeneity, which may enhance coexistence of species and diversity in competitor communities. On the other hand, it was known that basic limiting resources for growth usually include nutrients (e.g., nitrogen and ...

The power of microRNA regulation—insights into immunity and metabolism
MicroRNAs are emerging as crucial regulators at the intersection of metabolism and immunity. This review examines how miRNAs coordinate glucose and lipid metabolism while simultaneously modulating T‐cell development and immune responses. Moreover, it highlights how cutting‐edge artificial intelligence applications can identify miRNA biomarkers ...

The Stokes phenomenon for certain partial differential equations with variable coefficients depending on the time variable [PDF]
We consider the Stokes phenomenon for the solutions of some partial differential equations with variable coefficients in two complex variables, where initial data are holomorphic. We use the theory of (moment) summability and the theory of hyperfunctions to describe Stokes lines and jumps across these Stokes lines.

Understanding and measuring mechanical signals in the tumor stroma
This review discusses cancer‐associated fibroblast subtypes and their functions, particularly in relation to extracellular matrix production, as well as the development of 3D models to study tumor stroma mechanics in vitro. Several quantitative techniques to measure tissue mechanical properties are also described, to emphasize the diagnostic and ...
