Energy transference in time‐dependent Cattaneo–Christov double diffusion of second‐grade fluid with variable thermal conductivity

Heat Transfer, 2021
The current investigation communicates the characteristics of upper‐convected second grade nanofluid thin film flow over a time‐dependent stretching sheet with variable thermal conductivity and Cattaneo–Christov double diffusion theory.

MHD Convection of an Electrically Conductive Fluid with Variable Thermal Conductivity

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2011
The effect of temperature-dependent thermal conductivity on the magneto-convection in a low Prandtl number liquid is investigated numerically. The liquid is contained in a closed square cavity with isothermal vertical walls kept at different temperatures. The top and bottom walls are assumed to be insulated.

Variable Thermal Conductivity and Perforation Effects on a Heat-Conducting Plate

Journal of Thermophysics and Heat Transfer, 2010
T HE heat transfer across irregular surfaces, such as perforated plates, has been extensively studied in the past to control the rate of thermal energy in heat exchanger devices. In some cases the use of perforated plates within ranges of temperature at which the material that constitutes the plate exhibits a temperature-dependent thermal conductivity ...

Transient Conduction in a Hollow Cylinder With Variable Thermal Conductivity

Journal of Heat Transfer, 2010
A closed form approximate solution has been obtained for the transient temperature distribution in a hollow cylinder with a linear variation in thermal conductivity with temperature. The boundary conditions considered are convective heating (Newton’s law) at the exposed inner surface and adiabatic outer surface.

Variable Conductance Thermal Management System for Balloon Payloads

AIAA Balloon Systems (BAL) Conference, 2013
While continuously increasing in complexity, the payloads of terrestrial high altitude balloons need a thermal management system to reject their waste heat and to maintain a stable temperature as the air (heat sink) temperature swings from as cold as -90°C to as hot as +40°C.

Two-Temperature Generalized Thermoelasticity with Variable Thermal Conductivity

Journal of Thermal Stresses, 2010
In this work, the consideration of variable thermal conductivity as a linear function of temperature has been taken into account in the context of two-temperature generalized thermoelasticity (Youssef's model). The governing equations have been derived and used to solve the one-dimensional problems of an elastic half-space. The governing equations have

Thermal Process Lethality Variability In Conduction‐Heated Foods

Journal of Food Science, 1991
ABSTRACT No single method is available to estimate the variability of thermal process lethality (W Fp ) as a function of all thermal process parameters which significantly influence W Fp .

Variable Thermal Conductivity Metamaterials Applied to Passive Thermal Control of Satellites

Journal of Thermal Science and Engineering Applications, 2023
Abstract Active materials like the proposed variable thermal conductivity metamaterial enable new thermal designs and low-cost, low-power, passive thermal control. Thermal control of satellites conventionally requires active thermal control systems that are expensive, large, inefficient, energy-intensive, and unavailable for CubeSats ...
