Dv2v: A Dynamic Variable-to-Variable Compressor [PDF]
We present Dv2v, a new dynamic (one-pass) variable-to-variable compressor. Variable-to-variable compression aims at using a modeler that gathers variable-length input symbols and a variable-length statistical coder that assigns shorter codewords to the more frequent symbols. In Dv2v, we process the input text word-wise to gather variable-length symbols

Supersymmetry without Grassmann Variables [PDF]
Supersymmetry transformations may be represented by unitary operators in a formulation of supersymmetry without numbers that anti-commute. The physical relevance of this formulation hinges on whether or not one may add states of even and odd fermion ...

Fractional Variability—A Tool to Study Blazar Variability [PDF]
Active Galactic Nuclei emit radiation over the whole electromagnetic spectrum up to TeV energies. Blazars are one subtype with their jets pointing towards the observer. One of their typical features is extreme variability on timescales, from minutes to years.

Luminosities of AGB Variables [PDF]
The prevailing evidence suggests that most large-amplitude AGB variables follow the period luminosity (PL) relation that has been established for Miras in the LMC and galactic globular clusters.

The "Dual" Variables Of Yang-Mills Theory And Local Gauge Invariant Variables [PDF]
After adding auxiliary fields and integrating out the original variables, the Yang-Mills action can be expressed in terms of local gauge invariant variables. This method reproduces the known solution of the two dimensional $SU(N)$ theory.

EVALUATION OF SOCIO-ECONOMIС VARIABLES FOR THE CONSTANTINE TRAMWAY LINE [PDF]
The Constantine tramway line in Algeria has many variables that can be analysed to assess the impact of the line. These variables include social ones, such as the rational supply of transport between different modes of travel, the place of people with

Microinertia and internal variables [PDF]
The origin of microinertia of micromorphic theories is investigated from the point of view of non-equilibrium thermodynamics. In the framework of dual internal variables microinertia stems from a thermodynamic equation of state related to the internal ...

Variables and the Variable Cascade
Introduces one of the core features of DDI Lifecycle and DDI Cross Domain Integration, the nuanced model of variables as they perform different functions within data sets and between them: the “variable cascade”. Foundational DDI Metadata is split into five modules: Introduction to Concepts in DDI, which should be used first Concept Systems ...

Call-by-value and call-by-need $λ$-calculi are defined using the distinguished syntactic category of values. In theoretical studies, values are variables and abstractions. In more practical works, values are usually defined simply as abstractions. This paper shows that practical values lead to a more efficient process of substitution—for both call-by ...
