Standard Errors for the Blinder-Oaxaca Decomposition [PDF]

open access: yes
The decomposition technique introduced by Blinder (1973) and Oaxaca (1973) is widely used to study outcome differences between groups. For example, the technique is commonly applied to the analysis of the gender wage gap. However, despite the procedure's

Quantifying the correlation between variance components: An extension to the double‐hierarchical generalised linear model

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution
The variational properties of biological systems are an increasing focus of current research, and statistical methods are required for drawing inferences about the processes that determine them.

Inequality of Opportunity and Variance Decomposition: A Methodological Insight

open access: yesSocial Indicators Research
This paper introduces a new variance-based measure of inequality of opportunity (EOp) grounded in a decomposition of the Coefficient of Variation (CV). Our approach disentangles overall inequality into a between-group component driven by circumstances beyond individual control (e.g., gender, family background, or region of birth) and a within-group ...

Chlorination‐Enabled Oxygen Control and Dual‐Sulfur Source Aided Trap Passivation to Unlock 8.24% Efficient Sb2S3 Photovoltaic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates a scalable, low‐temperature synthesis strategy that combines a thioacetamide (TA)‐based dual sulfur source with CdS chlorination, enabling the formation of high‐quality Sb2S3 with a reduced open‐circuit voltage loss, resulting in improved device efficiency.

3D Printing Innovations in Polymeric Porous and Patterned Architecture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymeric foams occupy a unique structural space between dense solids and open networks, where engineered void fraction governs mechanical compliance, thermal resistance, and mass transport. Additive manufacturing now enables precise spatial control over cellular architecture, unlocking designer foam structures across applications spanning crash ...

What drives investors’ behaviour in different FX market segments? A VAR-based return decomposition analysis [PDF]

open access: yes
We apply the Campbell-Shiller return decomposition to exchange rate returns and fundamentals in a stationary panel vector autoregression framework. The return decomposition is then used to analyse how different investor segments react to news as captured

In Situ Crystalline‐Amorphous Composite Oxide Structure Suppressing Thermal Wear Instability for Refractory Multi‐Principal Element Alloy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An effective strategy is developed to overcome the medium temperatures wear resistance degradation in refractory multi‐principal element alloys. By utilizing chemical short‐range ordering to trigger oxygen‐induced amorphization, a composite oxide structure is formed, which combines high hardness with robust stiffness.

Self‐Adaptive Anhydrous Passivation Mitigates Open‐Circuit Voltage Loss in Pb‐Sn Mixed Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this report, a self‐adaptive anhydrous passivation strategy is introduced by incorporating trimellitic anhydride (TMAH) into the perovskite precursor. In situ hydrolysis of TMAH yields trimellitic acid (TMA); ‐C═O/‐COO− groups of TMAH/TMA form a chelate with undercoordinated Pb2+/Sn2+, regulate nucleation, promote (100) orientation, passivate ...
