Patterns of practice of adaptive re-planning for anatomic variances during cone-beam CT guided radiotherapy

open access: yesTechnical Innovations & Patient Support in Radiation Oncology, 2019
Purpose: Substantial, unanticipated anatomic variances during cone-beam CT (CBCT)-guided radiotherapy can potentially impact treatment accuracy and clinical outcomes.

Smallest singular value of sparse random matrices

open access: yes, 2012
We extend probability estimates on the smallest singular value of random matrices with independent entries to a class of sparse random matrices. We show that one can relax a previously used condition of uniform boundedness of the variances from below ...

Reformulating the Quantum Uncertainty Relation

open access: yes, 2015
Uncertainty principle is one of the cornerstones of quantum theory. In the literature, there are two types of uncertainty relations, the operator form concerning the variances of physical observables and the entropy form related to entropic quantities ...

Why and When Are Evidence‐Based Interventions Adopted in Paediatric Supportive Care? A Qualitative Exploration of the Determinants of Photobiomodulation Implementation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Oral mucositis is a common and debilitating side effect of childhood cancer and stem cell transplant treatments. It affects the quality of life of children and young people (CYP) and places a strain on services. Photobiomodulation is recommended for oral mucositis prevention in international guidance but is poorly implemented in UK ...

On a Less Cumbersome Method of Estimation of Parameters of Type III Generalized Logistic Distribution by Order Statistics

open access: yesStatistica, 2015
In this work we have derived appropriate U-statistics from a sample of any size exceeding a specified integer to estimate the location and scale parameters of Type III generalized logistic distribution without the knowledge or by evaluation of the means,

Dexamethasone for Chemotherapy‐Induced Nausea and Vomiting Prevention in Pediatric Patients: International Consensus

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background An international Delphi panel of experts developed consensus statements to delineate the circumstances where the risks of dexamethasone as an antiemetic do and do not outweigh its benefits. Procedure Experts in supportive care of pediatric patients were invited to participate.

A Study On Stability Of Conditional Variances For GARCH Models With Application

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2023
In this paper we study the stability conditions of GARCH models and we find these conditions by using a local linearization technique. In addition we study the stability of conditional variances predictions where these predictions converge to an ...

Real‐World Pediatric Blinatumomab Administration: Access to Outpatient Care Delivery and Impact of a Hospital‐Dispensed Model

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Blinatumomab has been shown to be highly effective for patients with pediatric B‐ALL and has recently become standard of care therapy. Due to its past use in the clinical trial setting, there is limited information available about real‐world administration.

Realized beta : persistence and predictability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A large literature over several decades reveals both extensive concern with the question of time-varying betas and an emerging consensus that betas are in fact time-varying, leading to the prominence of the conditional CAPM.

Clinical Insights Into Hypercalcemia of Malignancy in Childhood

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Hypercalcemia of malignancy (HCM) is a rare but life‐threatening metabolic emergency in children that occurs in less than 1% of pediatric cancer cases, with a reported incidence ranging from 0.4% to 1.0% across different studies. While it is observed in 10%–20% of adult malignancies, pediatric HCM remains relatively uncommon.
