Validation of a Novel, Low‐Cost, Portable MRI‐Compatible Exercise Device in Healthy Volunteers and Patients With Pulmonary Hypertension

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 11, November 2026.
We developed a simple, low‐cost MR‐compatible exercise device as an alternative to commercial ergometers. In this proof‐of‐concept study, it evoked a robust stress response during MR‐augmented cardiopulmonary exercise testing and distinguished pulmonary arterial hypertension patients from healthy controls.

Does COVID‐19 Vaccination Protect Against Post‐COVID Cardiovascular Conditions?

open access: yesReviews in Medical Virology, Volume 36, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Cardiovascular diseases, such as acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, and arrhythmias, have been associated with SARS‐CoV‐2 infection, representing an important cause of long‐term morbidity and mortality. In addition to preventing primary infection, COVID‐19 vaccination has emerged as a protective factor against post‐COVID ...

Diffusely impaired myocardial perfusion in patients with suspected coronary artery disease: Clinical utility of relative perfusion

open access: yesClinical Physiology and Functional Imaging, Volume 46, Issue 6, November 2026.
Abstract Background In patients with suspected coronary artery disease (CAD), diffusely impaired hyperaemic myocardial blood flow (MBF) may indicate a multivessel epicardial CAD but also impaired coronary microcirculation. We assessed whether relative hyperaemic MBF—that is, the ratio of the lowest to the highest regional hyperaemic MBF—predicts ...

Economic Burden of Overweight and Obesity in Sweden: Current Estimates and Future Projections

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 11, Page 9871-9879, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Overweight and obesity are major public health challenges and well‐established risk factors for cardiovascular disease, cancer and premature mortality. We estimated the economic burden of overweight and obesity in Sweden in 2023 and projected the future economic burden in 2040 under alternative scenarios of increasing prevalence ...
