Temporal and spatial variations of the Vienna aerosol
Science of The Total Environment, 1989For several intensive sampling periods the mass concentration, light extinction, light scattering and light absorption coefficients, and the mass size distribution of the aerosol have been determined at up to eleven location in the non-industrial town of Vienna. Obviously, large variations of the measured values have been found.

Support Vector Machine for Spatial Variation
Transactions in GIS, 2012AbstractLarge, multivariate geographic datasets have been used to characterize geographic space with the help of spatial data mining tools. In our study, we explore the sufficiency of theSupportVectorMachine (SVM), a popular machineālearning technique for unsupervised classification and clustering, to help recognize hidden patterns in a college ...

Dealing with Spatial Variation
1993Linear geostatistics can provide, by kriging from soil and environmental data, local estimates that are unbiased and have minimum and known variance, and are in this sense optimal. The procedure assumes a model, usually that the variables are realizations of random processes and intrinsic sensu Matheron.

Spatial Variational Principles in Continuum Mechanics
Archive for Rational Mechanics and Analysis, 1984In this paper the author proposes a correction of the original variational principle of \textit{J. W. Herivel} [Proc. Camb. Philos. Soc. 51, 344-349 (1955; Zbl 0068.188)] taking into account the constraint expressing the conservation of the identity of the particle. The thermodynamic considerations are left out and only simplest boundary conditions are

Spatial Variation of Human Selenium in Ethiopia
Biological Trace Element Research, 2018Selenium is an important nutrient for humans and livestock. Soil selenium concentration in the world is highly variable; deficiency and toxicity occur in populations living short distance apart. Knowledge of Se concentrations in humans and the environments, especially because the range for toxicity and deficiency is narrow, is important for effective ...

Spatial Variation in Search Engine Results
2010 43rd Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2010Geographic information retrieval (GIR) is, as a branch of traditional information retrieval, a discipline that tries to enrich data with geographical information to make it suitable for indexing and retrieval. Local or geographic aspects of web information retrieval should thus not be omitted but used to refine ranking algorithms and display more ...
