Diversity, habitat and activity patterns of mesocarnivore assemblages in an Afrotropical protected forest savannah mosaic of Central Cameroon

open access: yesAfrican Journal of Ecology, Volume 62, Issue 3, September 2024.
Abstract Little is known about the diversity and ecology of mesocarnivores in the Mpem and Djim National Parks in central Cameroon. Therefore, we undertook a rapid assessment using camera traps from September 2021 to December 2021. The main objective of our study was to collect data on the diversity, abundance and relative frequency of mesocarnivores ...

Community‐science reveals delayed fall migration of waterfowl and spatiotemporal effects of a changing climate

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 93, Issue 4, Page 377-392, April 2024.
Using 43 years of community‐science data, the authors found significant changes in the fall migration phenology for 12/15 waterfowl species, with most species shifting migration later in the season. When and where climate was correlated with phenological shifts differed among species, highlighting the importance of scale in climate research.

Spatio‐temporal heterogeneity in river sounds: Disentangling micro‐ and macro‐variation in a chain of waterholes

open access: yes, 2019
International audience1. Passive acoustic monitoring is gaining momentum as a viable alternative method to surveying freshwater ecosystems. As part of an emerging field, the spatio-temporal replication levels of these sampling methods need to be ...

open access: yes, 2015
A study of the diet of the Atlantic horse mackerel Trachurus trachurus (Linnaeus, 1758) was carried out on the Atlantic coast of Southern Morocco, located from Cap Boujdour to Cap Blanc (26 degrees 30'N-21 degrees N latitude). This area is characterized by a permanent upwelling and is among the highly productive ecosystems of the worldwide ocean.

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biological and Chemical Sciences, 2011

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biological and Chemical Sciences

Spatio-temporal variation in landscape composition may speed resistance evolution of pests to Bt crops

open access: yes, 2017
Transgenic crops that express insecticide genes from Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) are used worldwide against moth and beetle pests. Because these engineered plants can kill over 95% of susceptible larvae, they can rapidly select for resistance.
