Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

A new error estimate on uniform norm of Schwarz algorithm for elliptic quasi-variational inequalities with nonlinear source terms

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2018
The Schwarz algorithm for a class of elliptic quasi-variational inequalities with nonlinear source terms is studied in this work. The authors prove a new error estimate in uniform norm, making use of a stability property of the discrete solution.

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...

On three-step iterative schemes associated with general quasi-variational inclusions

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2022
In this paper, we investigate new classes of general quasi-variational inclusions. In this regard, we prove that general quasi-variational inclusions and fixed point problems are equivalent.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

A convergence criterion for elliptic variational inequalities

open access: yesApplicable Analysis, 2023
We consider an elliptic variational inequality with unilateral constraints in a Hilbert space $X$ which, under appropriate assumptions on the data, has a unique solution $u$. We formulate a convergence criterion to the solution $u$, i.e., we provide necessary and sufficient conditions on a sequence $\{u_n\}\subset X$ which guarantee the convergence ...

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Auxiliary Principle for Generalized Strongly Nonlinear Mixed Variational-Like Inequalities

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2009
We introduce and study a class of generalized strongly nonlinear mixed variational-like inequalities, which includes several classes of variational inequalities and variational-like inequalities as special cases.
