Tie Point Matching between Terrestrial and Aerial Images Based on Patch Variational Refinement
To produce highly detailed 3D models of architectural scenes, both aerial and terrestrial images are usually captured. However, due to the different viewpoints of each set of images, visual entities in cross-view images show dramatic changes.

Posterior Mean Super-Resolution with a Compound Gaussian Markov Random Field Prior
This manuscript proposes a posterior mean (PM) super-resolution (SR) method with a compound Gaussian Markov random field (MRF) prior. SR is a technique to estimate a spatially high-resolution image from observed multiple low-resolution images. A compound

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

DISOCCLUSION OF 3D LIDAR POINT CLOUDS USING RANGE IMAGES [PDF]
This paper proposes a novel framework for the disocclusion of mobile objects in 3D LiDAR scenes aquired via street-based Mobile Mapping Systems (MMS). Most of the existing lines of research tackle this problem directly in the 3D space.

A First Derivative Potts Model for Segmentation and Denoising Using ILP
Unsupervised image segmentation and denoising are two fundamental tasks in image processing. Usually, graph based models such as multicut are used for segmentation and variational models are employed for denoising. Our approach addresses both problems at

Variational quantum circuits for convolution and window-based image processing applications
Abstract Quantum information processing is gaining popularity in the fields of machine learning and image processing because of its advantages. Quantum convolution is an interesting topic in this field, and studies on this topic can be divided into value-based and angle-based methods.

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Second Order Differences of Cyclic Data and Applications in Variational Denoising
In many image and signal processing applications, as interferometric synthetic aperture radar (SAR), electroencephalogram (EEG) data analysis or color image restoration in HSV or LCh spaces the data has its range on the one-dimensional sphere $\mathbb S ...
