On Generalized Variational Inequalities
2007In this paper we illustrate the connections between generalized variational inequalities (GVI) and other mathematical models: optimization, complementarity, inclusions, dynamical systems. In particular, we analyse relationships between existence theorems of solutions of GVI and existence theorems of equilibrium points of inclusions and projected ...

VARIATIONAL INEQUALITIES IN COURNOT OLIGOPOLY
International Game Theory Review, 2007Consider G = (X1,…,XM,g1,…,gM) an M-player game in strategic form, where the set Xi is an interval of real numbers and the payoff functions gi are differentiable with respect to the related variable xi ∈ Xi. If they are also concave, with respect to the related variable, then it is possible to associate to the game G a variational inequality which ...

Lexicographic variational inequalities with applications
Optimization, 2007In this article, we consider equivalence properties between various kinds of lexicographic variational inequalities. By employing various concepts of monotonicity, we show that the usual sequential variational inequality is equivalent to the direct lexicographic variational inequality or to the dual lexicographic variational inequality.

Generalized variational inequalities and generalized quasi-variational inequalities
Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 1993Under much weaker hypotheses and in a more general setting some existence theorems of solutions to generalized variational inequalities, generalized quasi-variational inequalities and minimax inequalities are established. The results presented in this paper generalize the corresponding results of [3–13] to the noncompact case, thus improving these ...

G-Convergence for elliptic equations, variational inequalities and quasi-variational inequalities [PDF]
We give a general view of the results recently obtained onG-convergence and homogeneisation for elliptic equations, variational inequalities and quasi-variational inequalities and quasi-variational inequalities.

Regularization of Nonmonotone Variational Inequalities
Applied Mathematics and Optimization, 2006In this paper we extend the Tikhonov-Browder regularization scheme from monotone to rather a general class of nonmonotone multivalued variational inequalities. We show that their convergence conditions hold for some classes of perfectly and nonperfectly competitive economic equilibrium problems. © 2006 Springer Science+Business Media, Inc.

Variational principles for variational inequalities
Numerical Functional Analysis and Optimization, 1989This paper describes, and analyzes, variational principles for the solutions of finite dimensional variational inequalities on closed convex sets. No symmetry conditions are required for the function. A saddle point characterization of the solutions is also described. The relevant functionals are explicitly described for some particular examples.

Equilibrium is a concept central to the analysis of economic phenomena. Methodologies that have been applied to the formulation, qualitative analysis, and computation of economic equilibria have included systems of equations, optimization theory, complementarity theory, as well as fixed point theory.
