A Knowledge‐Based Approach for Understanding and Managing Additive Manufacturing Data
Additive manufacturing processes generate a large amount of data. Effectively managing, understanding, and retrieving information from this data remains a major challenge. Therefore, we propose an ontology‐based approach to integrate heterogeneous data, enable semantic queries, and support decision‐making.

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Metacybernetics: Aspect Traits and Fractal Patterns in Higher-Order Cybernetics
This paper extends the metacybernetic framework by grounding its conceptual descriptions in first principles of information physics. We demonstrate that for living systems to organise efficiently under uncertainty, they must adhere to a strict recursive ...

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

Probabilistic and Geometric Languages in the Context of the Principle of Least Action [PDF]
This paper explores the question of the unification of the three basic languages of physics, the geometric language of forces, the geometric language of fields or 4-dimensional space-time, and the probabilistic language of quantum mechanics.

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

In this note we wish to examine two cases in which variational principles seem to follow from expressing conserved quantities in terms of derivatives. Given conservation in a system, conserved quantities may be expressed in terms of “derivatives” which add to zero creating the variational principle.
