Variation on Variation on Euclid's Algorithm
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2004In a paper entitled "Variation on Euclid's Algorithm for Plynomials", Calvez et al. has shown that the extended Euclid's algorithm can be partially obtained by the nonextended one; in fact, it can obtain only two of the three unknowns of the Bezout's theorem.

Variations is an electroacoustic sound installation commissioned by the Villa Bernau in Wabern, Switzerland. The original sound installation was created in coordination with the sculptor Wolfram Renger. Renger’s sculptures deal with the historical forming of prisons of cultural and artistic identities.

Variations in teaching bring variations in learning
Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 2015AbstractA unified account of teaching such as Kline's can and should accommodate facts about teaching in nonhuman animals and culturally diverse populations. But to benefit from Kline's insights, we need to understand how her taxonomy of teaching maps onto a taxonomy of learning.

Radial lines pointing towards a central circular region induce an illusory positive brightness contrast. Shift in line orientation from radial to tangential can result in negative brightness contrast and line enhancement.

The author deals with functions \(f: R\to R\) (\(R\) --- the real line). Let \(E\subset R\) and let \(\delta\) be a positive function on \(E\). Then \[ S_ \delta(f,E)=\sup\sum^ n_{i=1}| f(x_ i+h_ i)-f(x_ i-h_ i)|, \] where the supremum is with regard to all sequences \(\{[x_ i- h_ i, x_ i+h_ i]\}\) of nonoverlapping intervals with centers \(x_ i\in E\)

The aim of this paper is to study a somewhat new class of variational inequalities as well as to generalize certain useful resuls including linear and non-linear problems. We are concerned with: the construction of a star set, the main theorem, variational inequality for monotone operators, the case with a mapping piecewise defined and an approximation
