1996Varicose veins are one of the most widespread and ancient diseases in the world. Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics, Aztec illustrations and Greek bas-reliefs reported this disease in ordinary people in its different stages of evolution from tortuous venous dilation, to edema and trophic lesions.
