Empagliflozin (10 mg/day for 20 weeks) improved glycaemic control, renal function, neuropathic symptoms and nerve conduction velocity in patients with type 2 diabetes and peripheral neuropathy, suggesting complementary metabolic, renal and neurophysiological benefits beyond glucose lowering.
