Varieties with small dual varieties, I

open access: yesInventiones Mathematicae, 1985
In the notations of part I of this paper [see the preceding review], suppose that def X\(>0\) and let H be a generic tangent hyperplane. Then H is tangent to X along a def X-dimensional linear subspace \(L\subset X\). The author studies deformations of L in X.

Enteropathogenic E. coli shows delayed attachment and host response in human jejunum organoid‐derived monolayers compared to HeLa cells

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Variety Jones Restaurant Menu 2020

open access: yes, 2020
We are barely two generations removed from people who learned instinctively how to cook over fire, the predominant method of most Irish households. Knowing how fire works is a central plank of Variety Jones, a wonderful addition to Thomas Street in ...

The drought tolerance of winter wheat varieties (Triticum aestivum L.), which are suitable for the dissemination in Ukraine

open access: yesPlant Varieties Studying and Protection, 2008
The results of research of the drought tolerance of winter wheat varieties (Triticum aestivum L.), which are suitable for the dissemination in Ukraine are presented. Differentiation of varieties according this trait is made.

VARIETIES OF REPRESENTATIONS OF GROUPS AND VARIETIES OF ASSOCIATIVE ALGEBRAS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Algebra and Computation, 2011
This paper is tightly connected with the book [Varieties of Group Representations. General Theory, Connections and Applications (Zinatne, Riga, 1983) (in Russian)]. In the paper we prove new results in the spirit of the above-mentioned book. They are related to dimension subgroups, varieties of representations of groups and varieties of associative ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

On the joins of semigroup varieties with the variety of commutative semigroups [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1994
We show that the join of a variety of semigroups and the variety of all commutative semigroups is not finitely based, provided some weak conditions.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative
