MedComm (2020)Chemerin, an adipokine and predictor of cardiovascular disease, is reduced by statins but not PCSK9 inhibitors in patients with hypercholesterolemia. This involves a direct effect of statins on chemerin release from hepatocytes, mediated via LDLR upregulation.
