Physiology of the vas deferens
World Journal of Urology, 1994Seminal emission occurs in response to rhythmic contractions of male secondary sex organs, including the vas deferens. Although contraction of the vas is directly due to adrenergic mechanisms, numerous substances modulate the release of norepinephrine from sympathetic pathways.

Cryocauterization of the Vas Deferens
Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, 1982An isolated segment of the vas deferens 2–3 cm long was cauterized using cryotherapy in 10 acceptors of voluntary sterilization to determine whether this method could be successfully employed as an alternative to vasoligation and resection. Three months postoperatively 8 patients were azoospermic but 2 patients were oligospermic.

Presentation of fused vas deferens
Urology, 2006Transverse testicular ectopia is a rare condition that usually presents as a unilateral nonpalpable testis and a contralateral descended testis with an associated hernia. Currently, with the use of diagnostic laparoscopy, transverse testicular ectopia is found before groin exploration. We reviewed 2 cases that were referred to our institution.

THE VAS DEFERENS IN CYSTIC FIBROSIS
The Lancet, 1969Abstract The intra-abdominal vasa deferentia were examined in ten boys who had died with cystic fibrosis between the ages of 56 hours and 15 years. The vasa were not found in one child, and in all others they were completely or partially reduced to a fibrous or muscular band. It is suggested that the mesonephric duct was obliterated during the 10th to

To the Editor.— Now that vasectomy is being done by so many non-urologists, it seems timely to discuss the anomalies of the vas that are occasionally encountered, such as congenital absence, atresia, or complete duplication. While performing a recent vasectomy, I identified the right vas and ligated it normally.

CALCIFICATION OF THE VAS DEFERENS IN DIABETES
Journal of the American Medical Association, 1960The main aim in this study was to determine the incidence of radiographically demonstrable calcification of the vas deferens (CVD) in adult diabetics. The second purpose was to relate the CVD to the severity and duration of the diabetes and to associated vascular calcification. Of 100 male diabetics, 11 had CVD.

On the Transportation of Spermatozoa in the Vas Deferens
Andrologia, 2009In this report the intraluminal pressure of the vas deferens was measured in vivo in male cross-bred dogs. The measurement of the pressure elucidated that the vas deferens repeated autonomic contraction. This contraction was not the so-called peristalsis but the entire portion of the vas deferens contracted simultaneously.

Cutaneous Fistulas to the Vas Deferens
Journal of Urology, 1992Cutaneous fistulas to the vas deferens are a rare occurrence. A careful review of the literature revealed only 16 cases reported within the last 70 years. We present a case of such a fistula occurring after inguinal orchiectomy for suppurative epididymo-orchitis and review the etiologies of all reported cases to provide recommendations for management.

Double conjoining vas deferens
Urology, 1980The importance of careful palpation of the scrotal contents and follow-up semen analysis when performing vasectomies is proved by this case report of a double vas deferens conjoining into a single vas.
