Improved taxonomic and gene sampling advance the knowledge of deep relationships within Macrodasyida (Gastrotricha)

open access: yesCladistics, Volume 42, Issue 1, Page 25-45, February 2026.
Abstract Advances in Macrodasyida (Gastrotricha) phylogenetics, fuelled by new species discoveries and molecular data, are reshaping taxonomic classifications. Molecular analyses suggest polyphyly in Cephalodasyidae and Macrodasyidae, yet insufficient sampling continues to obscure precise relationships.

Sex‐dependent role of 20‐HETE synthesis in outcome from ischemic stroke in rats

open access: yesPhysiological Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, February 2026.
Abstract The lipid mediator 20‐HETE is produced by ω‐hydroxylation of arachidonic acid mediated by cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzymes including CYP4A, which has four distinct isoforms in rodents. Several laboratories demonstrated that 20‐HETE synthesis inhibition reduces infarct volume following middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) in male animals. Here,

Cholinergic transmission in vas deferens

open access: yesGeneral Pharmacology: The Vascular System, 1983
Prazosin, haloperidol, propranolol or timolol had no effect on the electrically evoked muscular twitch. Atropine was able to antagonize competitively acetylcholine (pA2 = 9.29 +/- 0.30). The muscular twitch of the Octodon degus vas deferens was only partially abolished by atropine (53.2 +/- 0.72).

Partial duplication of vas deferens: How important is it?

open access: yesJournal of Indian Association of Pediatric Surgeons, 2010
This study reports a 1-year-old boy with unilateral partial duplication of vas deferens, diagnosed during surgery for undescended testis. Pediatric surgeons need to be aware of this kind of anomaly in order to avoid injury to this vital structure.

Testis and vas deferens morphology of the red-clawed mangrove tree crab (Goniopsis cruentata) (Latreille, 1803)

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2006
The present study describes the structure of the testes and vas deferens of the red-clawed mangrove tree crab, Goniopsis cruentata. Testes and vas deferens were fixed with cold Bouin's solution and submitted to histological routine examinations.

The annual cycle of spermatozoa content in the vas deferens and some reproductive parameters in the narrow-clawed crayfish Pontastacus leptodactylus (Eschscholtz, 1823)

open access: yesAquaculture Reports, 2019
Understanding the annual dynamic of gametes in crayfish is useful for successful management of crayfish population. The annual variations in spermatozoa content of vas deferens, gonado-somatic index (GSI), hepatosomatic index (HSI), vas deferens index ...

Vasitis: a clinical confusion diagnosis with inguinal hernia

open access: yesInternational Brazilian Journal of Urology
Vasitis or inflammation of the vas deferens is a rarely described condition categorized as either generally asymptomatic vasitis nodosa or the acutely painful infectious vasitis. Vasitis nodosa, the commonly described inflammation of the vas deferens, is
