Diversification and expression of the PIN, AUX/LAX, and ABCB families of putative auxin transporters in \u3cem\u3ePopulus\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Intercellular transport of the plant hormone auxin is mediated by three families of membrane-bound protein carriers, with the PIN and ABCB families coding primarily for efflux proteins and the AUX/LAX family coding for influx proteins. In the last decade

Precise Control of Drug Release in Machine Learning‐Designed Antibody‐Eluting Implants for Postoperative Scarring Inhibition in Glaucoma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a micro‐sized, biocompatible implant for postoperative sustained delivery of anti‐fibrotic antibodies in glaucoma surgery. Machine learning‐guided optimization of polymer composition, implant geometry, and porosity enabled precise control of drug release.

Aqueous Two‐Phase Bioinks for Discrete Packing and Compartmentalization of 3D Bioprinted Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Aqueous two‐phase systems (ATPS) enable the formation of biomimetic interfaces crucial for tissue engineering. However, clinical translation remains limited by the challenge of precisely controlling cellular compartmentalization. Here, we developed ATPS biomaterial inks for 3D bioprinting allowing tuneable droplet formation via NaCl modulation.

Cellular Structure of Stems and Fronds of 14 and 25 Year-Old Elaeis Guineensis Jacq. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) is one of the most important commercial crops in Malaysia. It has been cultivated in Malaysia mainly for palm oil and related products. The mature trees are felled at the end of its economic life (25 years). The stem

Bioengineered Lymphatic Vessels in Synthetic Matrices to Study Breast Cancer Cell Functions

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Lymphatic vessels are involved in cancer metastasis. To study the interplay between metastasizing cancer cells and lymphatic vessels under highly reproducible conditions, advanced in vitro models are required. In this work, 3D lymphatic networks are formed in biomimetic hydrogels and their interactions with invasive and non‐invasive cancer cell‐lines ...

Preliminary Study of a Ninj1‐Loaded Bimodal Ultrasound/NIR Fluorescence Targeted Molecular Probe for Diagnosing Early‐Stage Inflammation in Coronary Microvascular Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) targeting remains a challenge for precise diagnosis. This work presents a dual‐modal nanoprobe (T‐IR780‐NBs) that combines ultrasound contrast with near‐infrared fluorescence. This technology utilizes proteomics‐derived antibodies that specifically localize to inflamed and injured cardiac tissue, enabling ...

Water deficit in relation to leaf and stem anatomy of Eucalyptus camaldulensis Dehn. shoots cultivated in vitro

open access: yesScientia Agricola, 1999
Shoots of E. camaldulensis seedlings from three distinct provenances were submitted to three different levels of in vitro water deficit induced by the addition of sorbitol in the growth media.

Optimized Phosphorus Application Enhances Wheat Stem Lodging Resistance Under Spring Low-Temperature Stress

open access: yesPlants
Spring low-temperature stress (LTS) has become a major limiting factor for the development of high yield, quality and efficiency in wheat production. It not only affects the function of wheat leaves and the development of spikes but also impacts stem ...

Infusible Extracellular Matrix Biomaterial Enhances Cell‐Specific Pro‐Repair Responses Following Acute Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We measure the cell‐specific responses of administering infusible ECM (iECM) in acute myocardial infarction (MI) across multiple timepoints. Using single‐nucleus RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics, we measure macrophage activation, fibroblast remodeling, increased vascular development, lymphangiogenesis, cardioprotection, and neurogenesis ...
