Body donor programs in Australia and New Zealand: Current status and future opportunities

open access: yesAnatomical Sciences Education, Volume 18, Issue 3, Page 301-328, March 2025.
Abstract Body donation is critical to anatomy study in Australia and New Zealand. Annually, more than 10,000 students, anatomists, researchers, and clinicians access tissue donated by local consented donors through university‐based body donation programs. However, little research has been published about their operations.

Superior Capsular Reconstruction Technique for Massive Rotator Cuff Tear With Arthroscopic Transfer and Augmentation of Long Head of Biceps Brachii Tendon—The Biobridge Technique

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Massive irreparable rotator cuff tears remain a major surgical challenge, often leading to pain, functional loss, and superior humeral migration. Superior capsular reconstruction has emerged as a technique to restore superior stability.

Arthroscopy‐Assisted Type 2 Posterior Horn Lateral Meniscus Transtibial Root Repair And Concurrent Inside‐Out Lateral Meniscus Horizontal Cleavage Tear Repair With an Anterolateral Ligament Reconstruction Utilizing Iliotibial Band Autograft

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and anterolateral ligament (ALL) play key roles in maintaining rotational stability of the knee joint. Injuries that cause ACL tears have been shown to also frequently compromise the integrity of the ALL.

Arthroscopic Posterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Using a Pedicled Semitendinosus Autograft Through a Trans‐Septal Approach: A Technical Note

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Isolated posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) ruptures are relatively uncommon among knee ligament injuries. Operative management is recommended for patients with grade III posterior knee joint laxity. The complex anatomy of the PCL, particularly its course and insertion on the femur and the tibia, makes its reconstruction technically challenging.

Video‐Assisted Intralesional Curettage for Invasive Nonmalignant Giant Cell Tumors

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Giant cell tumor of bone is a locally aggressive benign neoplasm with a strong tendency for local recurrence after surgical treatment. Intralesional excision and curettage is preferred in most cases to maximize tumor removal while preserving the affected joint.

Inframalleolar Harvest of Split‐Thickness Peroneus Longus Tendon Autograft for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract The peroneus longus tendon has emerged as a viable autograft choice for single‐bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. However, ankle donor‐site morbidity remains a significant concern. More recently, the anterior half of the peroneus longus tendon has been suggested as an alternative graft to avoid possible ankle morbidity. However,

Neurovascular coupling in bone regeneration: Mechanisms, advanced biomaterials and challenges

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This figure illustrates various material strategies for neurovascularized bone regeneration, including electroactive scaffolds, ion‐loaded materials, drug delivery systems, surface modifications, cells/cell products, growth factors, and peptides. These approaches aim to synergistically promote the regeneration of neural, vascular, and bone tissues ...
