FBXO38 Regulates Nox1 Stability to Reduce Vascular Endothelial Damage Induced by Low Oscillatory Shear Stress

open access: yesCardiovascular Therapeutics
Oxidative stress and endothelial dysfunction are critical drivers of atherosclerosis, but the mechanisms regulating oxidative stress under disturbed flow conditions remain incompletely understood.

Identifying gene expression signatures for risk stratification of postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy in colorectal cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A novel signature integrating genome‐wide analysis with clinical factors predicts recurrence in stage II colorectal cancer and enables a new risk stratification to guide postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy. Clinical risk stratification for postoperative recurrence in patients with pathological stage II (pStage II) colorectal cancer (CRC) is essential ...

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Validation of the Society for Vascular Surgery's Objective Performance Goals for critical limb ischemia in everyday vascular surgery practice

open access: yes, 2011
BackgroundTo develop standardized metrics for expected outcomes in lower extremity revascularization for critical limb ischemia (CLI), the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) has developed objective performance goals (OPGs) based on aggregate data from ...

Effects of IGFBP4 deficiency on human preadipocyte proliferation and differentiation through the IGF1R/AKT pathway

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
IGFBP4 knockdown (KD) impairs preadipocyte proliferation and is associated with IGF1R protein downregulation and attenuated AKT phosphorylation. The mechanisms by which IGFBP4 KD influences the IGF1R/AKT signaling pathway involve newly synthesized proteins and lysosomal degradation pathways. Created in BioRender.

Vacuum-assisted wound closure versus alginate for the treatment of deep perivascular wound infections in the groin after vascular surgery

open access: yes, 2014
Vacuum-assisted wound closure (VAC) therapy may heal wounds faster than conventional dressings after surgical debridement of perivascular groin infections after vascular ...

Knockdown of lncRNA XIST Ameliorates IL-1β-Induced Apoptosis of HUVECs and Change of Tissue Factor Level via miR-103a-3p/HMGB1 Axis in Deep Venous Thrombosis by Regulating the ROS/NF-κB Signaling Pathway

open access: yesCardiovascular Therapeutics, 2022
Background. The effect of lncRNA X inactive-specific transcript (XIST) inducing cardiovascular diseases on deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and its mechanism has not been reported.

Risk Prediction Models for Recurrence After Curative Treatment of Early‐Stage or Locally Advanced Lung Cancer: A Systematic Review

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
This systematic review synthesizes prognostic models for survival and recurrence in resected non‐small cell lung cancer. While many models demonstrate moderate to good discrimination, few are externally validated and reporting quality is variable, limiting clinical applicability and highlighting the need for robust, transparent model development ...

Endovascular Management of a Deep Femoral Artery Perforating Branch Pseudoaneurysm after Total Hip Arthroplasty: A Case Study

open access: yesCase Reports in Medicine, 2022
Pseudoaneurysm of the profundal femoris artery (PFA) following total hip arthroplasty (THA) is a rare and unusual complication. Awareness of this complication and a high level of suspicion allow early diagnosis and treatment, thereby reducing the ...
