Unilateral persistent fetal vasculature coexisting with anterior segment dysgenesia

Archivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología (English Edition), 2017
A case is presented of a 4 week-old female neonate with Peters anomaly (PA) and unilateral persistent foetal vasculature (PFV) referred to our centre due to esotropia. At 12 weeks of age, a penetrating keratoplasty and vitrectomy were performed without major complications in the immediate post-operative period.

Retinal Vasculature Segmentation and Analysis using Heuristic approach

2019 IEEE International Conference on System, Computation, Automation and Networking (ICSCAN), 2019
Retinal blood vessel Extraction in retinal images allows early diagnosis of disease and is useful in detecting ocular disorders and helps in laser surgery. Automating this process provides several benefits including better extraction of the disease section.

Deep Learning-Based Framework for Retinal Vasculature Segmentation

2021
Retinal vessel segmentation aims to separate the structure of blood vessels from the fundus image background. This retinal vasculature is then used for detection of numerous diseases like retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, coronary heart disease, etc.

Retinal Vasculature Segmentation in Smartphone Ophthalmoscope Images

2015
Retinal imaging system assists ophthalmologists to diagnose the diseases and to monitor the treatment processes. Conventionally, fundus retinal images are obtained from expensive systems like fluorescein angiography and fundus photography but these systems are large tabletop units and can only be handled by trained technicians.

Automated segmentation of blood vasculature from retinal images

2016 2nd International Conference on Communication Control and Intelligent Systems (CCIS), 2016
In this paper an algorithm is proposed for blood vessel extraction from an eye's fundus image. Blood vessels removal and detection is an important step to find features or abnormalities like red lesions, optic nerve and fovea used for retinal health diagnosis.

Segmentation of retinal vasculature in colour fundus images

2009 Innovative Technologies in Intelligent Systems and Industrial Applications, 2009
Characteristic of retinal vasculature has been an important indicator for many diseases such as hypertension and diabetes. A digital image analysis system can assist medical experts to make accurate diagnosis in an efficient manner. This paper presents the computer based approach to the automated segmentation of blood vessels in retinal images.

Segmentation and analysis of colour Doppler images of tumour vasculature

Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, 1995
A technique has been developed to segment (separate), from a digitized colour Doppler video image, the colour and greyscale information and then to estimate from the colour information the original mean Doppler frequency shift data from which the image was created. The remapped velocity image is then analysed to extract numerical features of the tumour

Retinal fundus vasculature multilevel segmentation using whale optimization algorithm

Signal, Image and Video Processing, 2017
The aim was to present a novel automated approach for extracting the vasculature of retinal fundus images. The proposed vasculature extraction method on retinal fundus images consists of two phases: preprocessing phase and segmentation phase. In the first phase, brightness enhancement is applied for the retinal fundus images.

A Novel Unsupervised Framework for Retinal Vasculature Segmentation

2018
Accurate blood vessel detection is of significant clinical importance for detection of diseases like hypertension, diabetic retinopathy, stroke, and arteriosclerosis. This paper demonstrates a novel unsupervised technique to address the problem of retinal blood vessel detection.
