A refined method of delivering the vas deferens for vasectomy has been developed and used in China since 1974. This method eliminates the scalpel, results in fewer hematomas and infections, and leaves a smaller wound than conventional techniques. An extracutaneous fixation ring clamp encircles and firmly secures the vas without penetrating the skin.

In summary, a vasectomy is a safe, simple, and effective method of male contraception without any known long-term health hazards. Because of its simplicity, it is performed in more than 500,000 patients per year, mainly in a physician's office, making it a very cost-effective contraceptive method.

However, some aspects of this operation have been wrongly presented in an attempt to widen its popularity and increase public acceptance. A simple procedure it may be but it is not totally free of complications; sometimes

Vasectomy remains a safe and effective method of contraception for men. Many variations in surgical technique currently are used by surgeons in the United States, each with its own benefits and drawbacks. Regardless of the surgical method used, the most important factor for successful vasectomy remains the experience and skill of the surgeon.

ABSTRACTVasovasostomy to reverse a previous vasectomy for sterilization was attempted for 27 men, the procedure being technically impossible in only one case. A testicular biopsy was performed at the time of operation and a number were investigated for cell‐mediated immunity to sperm and for the presence of circulating sperm‐agglutinating and cytotoxic
