Examining the role of vasopressin in the modulation of parental and sexual behaviors

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychiatry, 2015

Inhibition by Oxytocin of Vasotocin-Induced Activities in Toads

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1962
SummaryIn the toad Bufo bufo (L.), the antidiuretic effect of 0.6 or 6 mμg vasotocin was prevented by simultaneous injection of equal amounts of oxytocin. The slight increase in cutaneous water uptake produced by 6 mμg vasotocin was reduced by simultaneous injection of the same amount of oxytocin.
