Wavelet Analysis of Blood Pressure Waves in Vasovagal Syncope [PDF]
We describe the multiresolution wavelet analysis of blood pressure waves in vasovagal syncope affected patients compared with healthy people one. We argue that there exist subtle discriminating criteria which allow us to isolate particular features ...

Prohormones in the early diagnosis of cardiac syncope [PDF]
Background--The early detection of cardiac syncope is challenging. We aimed to evaluate the diagnostic value of 4 novel prohormones, quantifying different neurohumoral pathways, possibly involved in the pathophysiological features of cardiac syncope ...

Postorgasmic Side Effects of Tadalafil: A Case Report
ABSTRACT We present a case of postorgasmic side effects related to the use of tadalafil 2.5 mg tablet. The patient developed symptoms like dizziness, palpitations, headache, and anxiety within minutes of ejaculation whenever he used tadalafil. Discontinuation of the drug led to complete resolution of all symptoms.

Head-Up Tilt Testing with Different Nitroglycerin Dosages: Experience in Elderly Patients with Unexplained Syncope [PDF]
AIMS: Protocols using sublingual nitrates have been increasingly used to improve diagnostic accuracy of head-up tilt testing (HUT). Nevertheless, exaggerated responses to nitrates have been frequently described, particularly in elderly patients.

Case of Severe Hiccups Causing SIADH, Treated With Lorazepam
ABSTRACT This is a presentation of severe hiccups which led to the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone (SIADH). The patient presented after 3 days of severe hiccups associated with vomiting and oral intake intolerance. SIADH was diagnosed by hyponatremia (initial 128 millimoles/liter (mmol/L), nadir 119 mmol/L; normal range 136–146 mmol/L ...

In patients with suspected vasovagal syncope, a 15‐min head‐up tilt test protocol yielded similar diagnostic results to the conventional 20‐min protocol. This shorter approach may improve patient comfort and syncope unit efficiency without compromising diagnostic accuracy.
