Rulers on the road: Itinerant rule in the Holy Roman Empire, AD 919–1519

Abstract Itinerant rule, rule exercised through traveling, was a common yet insufficiently researched, premodern form of governance. Studying the determinants of ruler itineraries in the Holy Roman Empire, AD 919–1519, we argue that rulers' visits targeted “marginal” elites.

Proteomic and Transcriptomic Signatures of Poor Asthma Symptom Control in the U‐BIOPRED Cohort

No stable features were identified as associated with asthma symptom control in transcriptomics or sputum proteomics. Higher TWEAKR/TNFRSF12A and MBL/MBP‐C serum levels increased the odds of uncontrolled symptoms, while higher MK08/MAPK8 and CD5L serum levels decreased the odds, after adjustment for clinical variables.

ABSTRACT The therapeutic goal in chronic airway diseases is shifting from symptom control to disease remission. Disease‐modifying therapies, including biologics and allergen immunotherapy, have made remission achievable in patients with severe asthma, chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP), or allergic rhinitis (AR).

The Heterogeneous Regional Employment Effects of Environmental Policies

ABSTRACT This paper examines the effects of Environmental Policies—measured by the OECD Environmental Policy Stringency Index (EPS)—on employment in 349 regions across 26 countries from 1990 to 2020. We find that more stringent EPS have short‐term negative effects on regional employment, which disappear in the medium term.
