Abstract Purpose Deepening trochleoplasty improves outcomes in patients with trochlear dysplasia. The aim of this systematic review was to present the outcomes after open thin‐flap, open thick‐flap and arthroscopic deepening trochleoplasty. Methods A systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA guidelines.

Patellar malalignment combined with a deformed valgus knee is treated. After the nail inlet hole is created, the distal femur is obliquely osteotomized by creating a posterior cam on the distal bony fragment. The cam is consequently inserted into the marrow cavity of the proximal bony fragment and the desired axis of the lower extremity is realigned. A

Abstract Purpose The use of knee braces following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) remains contentious. Although frequently prescribed in clinical settings, their effectiveness in enhancing postoperative recovery is uncertain. This study aimed to determine whether postoperative bracing after ACLR confers clinical benefits regarding knee

Abstract Many techniques have been described for the reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) in patients with acute or recurrent instability. Most commonly, an MPFL hamstring tendon auto‐ or allograft is used, attached to the patella and medial femoral condyle using bone tunnels and various fixation implants to ensure stable ...

Medial Patellofemoral Complex Reconstruction Using the Rectus Femoris Tendon
Abstract The medial proximal static stabilizers of the patella are the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) and the medial quadriceps tendon femoral ligament. These are collectively referred to as the “medial patellofemoral complex” (MPFC). MPFL reconstruction is the workhorse of patellar stabilization surgery for recurrent lateral instability.

Abstract Purpose To determine the optimal knee flexion angle for graft tensioning of the MPFL reconstruction to minimize patellofemoral contact pressures. Methods Ten cadaveric knees underwent MPFL reconstruction using a hamstring auto‐graft. The graft was fixed to the patella at 40% of length from the proximal tip, secured with suture tied over a bone

Abstract Recurrent patella dislocation is a common orthopaedic condition in adolescents, with medial patellofemoral ligament injuries found in most cases. Double‐bundle anatomic medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction (MPFLR) has been widely used for managing patellofemoral instability.

Approach to Patellar Dislocation Treatment: Review and Prospects
Lateral patellar dislocation treatment should be individualized by integrating risk stratification tools with assessment of anatomical risk factor complexity. A clinical decision flowchart is proposed to guide treatment strategy and highlight the importance of risk‐specific surgical planning.
