Twin Pregnancies—Emergency Cerclage in the Second Trimester and Delivery of Second Twins 110 and 123 Days Later

open access: yesReproductive, Female and Child Health, Volume 5, Issue 1, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background: Since the 1980s, the global twinning rate has risen to about 1.6 million twin pairs annually due to the widespread use of IVF. Twin pregnancies carry a higher risk of complications compared to singleton pregnancies, with cervical insufficiency being a significant concern that can lead to preterm birth and adverse perinatal outcomes.

Oldest Cretaceous latimeriid elucidates cranial evolution in derived and extant coelacanths (Actinistia, Latimeriidae)

open access: yesPapers in Palaeontology, Volume 12, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract The fossil record of coelacanths (Actinistia) is diminished by several nominal gaps that obscure vital information pertaining to the clade's evolutionary history. Latimeriidae, the family that includes the extant coelacanth Latimeria, in addition to the Cenozoic, has an outstanding missing gap of 50 myr during the Mesozoic, with no records of ...

Winter‐to‐Winter Sea Surface Temperature Anomaly Reemergence in the Yellow Sea

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Oceans, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The reemergence of winter sea surface temperature anomalies (SSTAs) serves as an effective oceanic memory mechanism, linking winter SSTs across consecutive years in mid‐latitude deep oceans. However, its existence and potential role in modulating SSTA variability in continental shelf seas have remained largely unexplored.
