Bioengineered Indoor Farming Approaches: LED Light Spectra and Biostimulants for Enhancing Vindoline and Catharanthine Production in Catharanthus roseus

open access: yesHorticulturae
Light quality and biostimulants regulate alkaloid biosynthesis and promote plant growth, but their combined effects on vindoline (VDL) and catharanthine (CAT) production in Catharanthus roseus remain underexplored.

Synthetic polymer nanocarrier enhances dsRNA stability but not RNAi efficacy in Brassicogethes aeneus

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Experimental setup for dsRNA feeding in Brassicogethes aeneus to evaluate the effect of a synthetic polymer nanocarrier on RNAi efficiency. The experiment assessed whether the nanocarrier enhances RNAi after oral dsRNA delivery. (a) Stability of dsRNA–nanocarrier complexes was tested in simulated gut conditions. (b) Gene expression of αCOP and dre4 was

Visual Ensemble Analysis With Deep Learning Prediction for Studying the Effect of Tissue Properties on Radiofrequency Ablation

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
We present an interactive visual analysis tool to study how patient‐specific tissue properties influence radiofrequency ablation outcomes. Using a deep‐learning surrogate model, we predict ablation volumes for unseen parameter settings with accuracy superior to interpolation, supporting improved treatment planning. Abstract Radiofrequency (RF) ablation

A Comparative User Study on Control‐Flow Visualizations of Event Log Data

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
This paper compares seven commonly used control‐flow visualizations using a formal user study with 48 participants. Directly‐Follows Graphs (DFGs), Petri nets, Business Process Model and Notations, Process trees, variant timelines, Icicle plots, and Sankey visualizations are evaluated on their performance on different tasks, understandability, and user

Negative-Pressure Cavitation Extraction of Four Main Vinca Alkaloids from Catharanthus roseus Leaves

open access: yesMolecules, 2012
In the present study, an improved method termed negative-pressure cavitation extraction (NPCE) followed by reverse phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) was developed for the extraction and quantification of vindoline (VDL ...

Handwriting speed in left‐handed children with right‐sided neonatal brachial plexus palsy

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, EarlyView.
This observational study investigated whether left‐handed children with right‐sided neonatal brachial plexus palsy (NBPP) exhibit reduced handwriting speed compared with typically developing left‐handed peers and explored determinants of any observed differences.

Staurosporine Targets Mitochondrial Regulator VdAtuA3 to Disrupt Mitochondrial Homeostasis to Control Verticillium Wilt

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mitochondria serve as cellular powerhouses that generate ATP via electron transport chain complexes and orchestrate metabolism‐apoptosis cross‐talk, yet genes maintaining mitochondrial homeostasis remain underexplored as antifungal targets. In this study, a previously uncharacterised protein VdAtuA3 was identified as a novel interactor with ...

Analysing the Actual Use of Controller–Pilot Data Link Communications

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings, 2023
Controller–pilot data link communications (CPDLC) is a digital protocol and part of air navigation systems where Air Traffic Control (ATC) can text an aircraft instead of engaging in voice communications.

A Secure Steganographic Authentication Framework for Controller Pilot Data Link Communications over VDL-2: Design, Implementation and Evaluation

open access: yesEast African Journal of Information Technology
CPDLC now carries a large share of routine air traffic control instructions, but the protocol as run over VDL-2 has no encryption and no way to check who sent a message.
