Burden of Chikungunya Fever and Its Economic and Social Impacts Worldwide: A Systematic Review

open access: yesTropical Medicine &International Health, Volume 30, Issue 9, Page 865-892, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to investigate the social and economic impacts and disease burden of Chikungunya Fever globally through a systematic literature review. Methods We performed a comprehensive literature search through MEDLINE (via PubMed), LILACS, and Embase databases, and grey literature, including studies of populations diagnosed ...

Extreme Enhancement‐Mode Operation Accumulation Channel Hydrogen‐Terminated Diamond FETs with Vth < −6 V and High on‐Current

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 11, Issue 8, June 2025.
Hydrogen‐terminated diamond FETs with an accumulation channel architecture achieve extreme enhancement‐mode operation (Vth < ‐6 V) and high on‐current (> 80 mA mm−1). This is realized by creating a high‐quality H‐diamond surface with an unpinned Fermi level and encapsulating the channel in dual stacks of Al2O3 Improved hole mobility (~ 110 cm2 V−1 s−1)

Applications of density functional theory to corrosion and corrosion prevention of metals: A review

open access: yesMaterials Genome Engineering Advances, Volume 3, Issue 1, March 2025.
This review presents a comprehensive overview of applications of density functional theory (DFT) to corrosion and corrosion prevention of metals, involving potential‐pH diagrams, hydrogen evolution reaction, anodic dissolution, passivity and passivity breakdown, and organic inhibitor for metals. The DFT modeling‐experiment‐engineering‐theory model will

Assessing the Use of Different Surveillance Components to Detect Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Outbreaks in Poultry in the Netherlands in Low‐ and High‐Risk Years

open access: yesTransboundary and Emerging Diseases, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Avian influenza (AI) is a highly contagious zoonotic disease primarily affecting birds with clinical manifestation depending on bird species and virus subtype. Globally, outbreaks have had a large socioeconomic impact. Moreover, highly pathogenic AI virus (HPAIv) outbreaks can pose a public health risk.

Reliable Lift‐Off Patterning of Graphene Dispersions for Humidity Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 11, Issue 18, June 26, 2024.
A novel patterning method for graphene dispersions based on the well‐established metal lift‐off process is demonstrated and characterized. The method yields uniform graphene flake films and reproducible sheet resistances. It is used to fabricate highly uniform humidity sensors with reduced noise, resulting in a detection limit below 1% relative ...

Polyketide synthase positive Escherichia coli one‐time measurement in stool is not informative of colorectal cancer risk in a screening setting

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, Volume 263, Issue 2, Page 217-225, June 2024.
Abstract Environmental factors like the pathogenicity island polyketide synthase positive (pks+) Escherichia coli (E. coli) could have potential for risk stratification in colorectal cancer (CRC) screening. The association between pks+ E. coli measured in fecal immunochemical test (FIT) samples and the detection of advanced neoplasia (AN) at ...

Radiocarbon dates from the Netherlands and Doggerland as a proxy for vegetation and faunal biomass between 55 and 5 ka cal bp

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, Volume 39, Issue 2, Page 248-260, February 2024.
ABSTRACT Three hundred forty‐one radiocarbon dates from the Groningen radiocarbon database are compiled in this study. They show for the first time that organic sediment samples from the eastern Netherlands and mammal bones from Doggerland reflect shifts in the presence and the density of vegetation (food for herbivores) and mammal biomass during the ...

The Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative in the era of Alzheimer's disease treatment: A review of ADNI studies from 2021 to 2022

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 20, Issue 1, Page 652-694, January 2024.
Abstract The Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) aims to improve Alzheimer's disease (AD) clinical trials. Since 2006, ADNI has shared clinical, neuroimaging, and cognitive data, and biofluid samples. We used conventional search methods to identify 1459 publications from 2021 to 2022 using ADNI data/samples and reviewed 291 impactful ...
