Laser-Triggered Switch Modification to VEBA

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1981
The VEBA high current, relativistic electron accelerator has been modified for free electron laser experiments by replacing a self-closing water output switch with a laser-triggered gas switch. Reliable switch operation has been achieved in single and two channel discharges with output waveforms closely matching computer simulation.

The VEBA OEL Technologie pyrolysis process

Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis, 1993
Abstract Pyrolysis in indirectly heated rotary kilns was used until 1964 in the refineries of VEBA OEL AG, Gelsenkirchen. The pyrolysis vapours were condensed and the pyrolysis oils produced were upgraded in hydrogenation plants to obtain market products.

The VEBA Relativistic Electron Accelerator

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1975
The VEBA high-current, relativistic electron accelerator has been designed and constructed at NRL for application in the study of high-power microwave sources. To meet the requirements of this study, the accelerator was designed for operation in either a short (60 nsec) or long (2.2 ?sec) pulse mode.
