Paraxial propagation in disclinated amorphous media
We study paraxial beam propagation along the wedge axis of a disclinated amorphous medium. The defect-induced inhomogeneity results in Berry phase and curvature that are affected by the induced uniaxial anisotropy.

Self-steering partially coherent vector beams
We introduce a class of self-steering partially coherent vector optical beams with the aid of a generalized complex Gaussian representation. We show that such partially coherent vector beams have mobile guiding centers of their intensity and polarization state distributions on the beam free space propagation that could be employed to generate far-field

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

The propagation of Hermite-Gaussian beam pairs in strong nonlocal planar waveguide
Incoherent orthogonal polarized Hermite-Gaussian (HG) beam pairs are investigated in nonlocal planar waveguide. Using the variational approach, we discuss the existence and dynamics of Vector HG solitons analytically and confirm it by split-step Fourier ...

A new finite element formulation of three-dimensional beam theory based on interpolation of curvature [PDF]
A new finite element formulation of the `kinematically exact finite-strain beam theory' is presented. The finite element formulation employs the generalized virtual work in which the main role is played by the pseudo-curvature vector. The solution of the

Vector meson photoproduction studied in its radiative decay channel
We provide an analysis of vector meson photoproduction in the channel of the vector meson decaying into a pseudoscalar meson plus a photon, i.e. $V\to P\gamma$.

Micro‐injection laser‐assisted bioprinting enables ultrafast and precise patterning of small endothelial cell spheroids by injecting a highly concentrated single‐cell suspension into GelMA/ColMA hydrogels. In co‐culture with fibroblasts, controlled pre‐vasculogenic network formation is obtained at microscale resolution.

Nondiffracting vortex-beams in a birefringent chiral crystal
A vector wave analysis of nondiffracting beams propagating along a birefringent chiral crystal for the case of tensor character both of the optical activity and linear birefringence is presented, fields of eigen modes satisfying vector wave equation.

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.
