Calculation of the intensity at the sharp focus of a cylindrical vector beam by three methods
We conduct a comparative analysis of diffraction fields upon sharply focusing vortex and non-vortex incident beams, calculated using three non-paraxial methods. The methods employed are a finite difference time domain (FDTD) method, a Rayleigh–Sommerfeld

Electro-Optic Modulation of Higher-Order Poincaré Beam Based on Nonlinear Optical Crystal
Vector beams (VBs) have spatially inhomogeneous polarization states distribution and have been widely used in many fields. In this paper, we proposed a method to modulate polarization states of higher-order Poincaré (HOP) beams and designed a system ...

It is well known that the trajectory of a light beam can curve if the medium in which the beam propagates is inhomogeneous or if the local spacetime is curved. In this paper we present a third possibility and show that a properly-prepared optical beam follows a curved trajectory even in free space where the spacetime is locally flat.

Two-Dimensional Quasi-Periodic Diffraction Properties of the Scalar and Vector Optical Fields
As is known, quasi-periodicity attracts great attention in many scientific regions. For instance, the discovery of the quasicrystal was rewarded the Nobel Prize in 2011, leading to a series of its applications.

Vector Reflectometry in a Beam Waveguide [PDF]
We present a one-port calibration technique for characterization of beam waveguide components with a vector network analyzer. This technique involves using a set of known delays to separate the responses of the instrument and the device under test.

Entangled vector vortex beams [PDF]
Light beams having a vectorial field structure, or polarization, that varies over the transverse profile and a central optical singularity are called vector vortex (VV) beams and may exhibit specific properties such as focusing into "light needles" or rotation invariance.

A novel experimental setup for the generation of arbitrary vector beams is proposed. The system major includes two reflective liquid crystal spatial light modulators (RLC-SLM) and a polarizing beam splitting prism. Moreover, this method is not limited by
