Drop‐on‐Demand Printed Negative Dielectric Anisotropy Liquid Crystal Droplets for Adaptive Complex Beam Manipulation and Assessment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Printed negative‐dielectric‐anisotropy liquid‐crystal droplets enable multidimensional full‐vectorial optical‐field sensing across polarization, phase, and wavelength, while also generating tunable skyrmionic‐like complex optical fields. ABSTRACT Adaptive manipulation of vectorial optical fields is important for optical metrology, imaging, and ...

Propagation dynamics of vector Mathieu-Gauss beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The vector Mathieu-Gauss beams of integer order are examined as the solutions of the vector paraxial wave equation in elliptical coordinates. The propagation of the vector components and the three-dimensional intensity distribution of focused vector ...

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...

Azobenzene's Cross‐Scale Optics and Photonics: Molecular Photoswitching, Mesoscopic Material Motions, and Adaptive Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Azobenzene photoswitches translate molecular‐scale E/Z photoisomerization into macroscopic material responses and device‐level photonic functions. This Review highlights how azobenzene research has evolved from molecular photochemistry to photoalignment, mass migration, photomechanics, and heat release, ultimately enabling holography, reconfigurable ...

Beam vectoring trigger for E910

open access: yes, 1996
Experiment 910 (e910) is a proton-gold nucleus collision experiment planned to run at the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron at Brookhaven National Laboratory. A gold foil target will be bombarded with high energy protons in an attempt to experimentally verify the existence of the H-dibaryon, a six quark particle permitted by the Standard Model.
