Focus shaping using cylindrical vector beams
We report a focus shaping technique using generalized cylindrical vector beams. A generalized cylindrical vector beam can be decomposed into radially polarized and azimuthally polarized components. Such a generalized cylindrical beam can be generated from a radially polarized or an azimuthally polarized light using a two-half-wave-plate polarization ...

Generation of terahertz vector beam bearing tailored topological charge
Optical vector beams have great potential in many applications, for example optical tweezers, information transmission and processing, laser surface structuring, particle acceleration, and vortex dichroism spectroscopy. However, the reported vector beams

Vector quality measure for vector beams [PDF]
Vector beams are spatial modes of light with spatially variant polarization states in the transverse profile. Over the years, vector beams have found their way into plenty of applications ranging from material processing and lithography to electron acceleration and particle trapping.

Vector Beams with Only Transverse Intensity at Focus
In this work, the tight focusing of vector beams with azimuthal polarization and beams with a V-line of polarization singularity (sector azimuthal polarization) was simulated numerically using the Richards–Wolf formulas.

An interference scheme for generating inhomogeneously polarized laser radiation using a spatial light modulator [PDF]
An optical system for converting linearly polarized laser beams into cylindrical vector beams is developed and experimentally investigated. The scheme is based on the coherent addition of mode beams using a Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The simplicity and

Influence of initial phase of polarization on tight focusing of vector beam
Generally, the influence of initial phase of polarization distribution of incident vector beams always is ignored in its tight focusing, because it just induce the whole rotation of polarization distribution.

Parabolic-accelerating vector waves
Complex vector light fields have become a topic of late due to their exotic features, such as their non-homogeneous transverse polarisation distributions and the non-separable coupling between their spatial and polarisation degrees of freedom (DoF).

It is well known that the trajectory of a light beam can curve if the medium in which the beam propagates is inhomogeneous or if the local spacetime is curved. In this paper we present a third possibility and show that a properly-prepared optical beam follows a curved trajectory even in free space where the spacetime is locally flat.
