Classification of Lie Subalgebras up to an Inner Automorphism [PDF]
In this paper, a useful classification of all Lie subalgebras of a given Lie algebraup to an inner automorphism is presented. This method can be regarded as animportant connection between differential geometry and algebra and has many applications in ...

On the properties of forward and backward shifts of vector fields [PDF]
The paper investigates some properties of recently defined forward and backward shifts of vector fields. The main purpose of the paper is to show that the forward and backward shifts of vector fields commute with the Lie bracket operator and with some ...

We present a novel approach toward evolving artificial embryogenies, which omits the graph representation of gene regulatory networks and directly shapes the dynamics of a system, i.e., its phase space. We show the feasibility of the approach by evolving cellular differentiation, a basic feature of both biological and artificial development.

Representation of vector fields [PDF]
A simple proof is given for the explicit formula which allows one to recover a $C^2-$smooth vector field $A=A(x)$ in $\mathbb{R}^3$, decaying at infinity, from the knowledge of its $\nabla \times A$ and $\nabla \cdot A$.

On Jacobi-Type Vector Fields on Riemannian Manifolds
In this article, we study Jacobi-type vector fields on Riemannian manifolds. A Killing vector field is a Jacobi-type vector field while the converse is not true, leading to a natural question of finding conditions under which a Jacobi-type vector field ...

We speak of a parallel vector field if parallel transport is independent of the path of propagation [1, p. 239]. Riemannian spaces which are flat offer a simple example for the existence of such fields [1, p. 239]. We wish to generalize the concept of parallel displacement of a vector in a Riemannian space.
