Voice conversion through vector quantization

open access: yesICASSP-88., International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1990
A new voice conversion technique through vector quantization and spectrum mapping is proposed. This technique is based on mapping codebooks which represent the cor respondencebetween different speakers' codebooks. The mapping codebooks for spectrum parameters, power values, and pitch frequencies are separately generated using training utterances.

Retinal spike train decoder using vector quantization for visual scene reconstruction

open access: yesComplex & Intelligent Systems
The retinal impulse signal is the basic carrier of visual information. It records the distribution of light on the retina. However, its direct conversion to a scene image is difficult due to the nonlinear characteristics of its distribution.

Topological Hopf algebras, quantum groups and deformation quantization

open access: yes, 2003
After a presentation of the context and a brief reminder of deformation quantization, we indicate how the introduction of natural topological vector space topologies on Hopf algebras associated with Poisson Lie groups, Lie bialgebras and their doubles ...

An adaptive vector quantization scheme [PDF]

open access: yes
Vector quantization is known to be an effective compression scheme to achieve a low bit rate so as to minimize communication channel bandwidth and also to reduce digital memory storage while maintaining the necessary fidelity of the data.
