Local Proper Orthogonal Decomposition based on space vectors clustering

3rd International Conference on Systems and Control, 2013
This paper presents a new method to make the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition (POD) more accurate for reducing the order of nonlinear systems. POD fails to capture the nonlinear degrees of freedom in highly nonlinear systems because it assumes that data belongs to a linear space.

Parallelepipeds and Decomposition of Ranges of Vector Measures in Banach Spaces

Mathematische Nachrichten, 2000
The authors extend some conclusions of decomposition of the ranges of vector measures about zonoids in \({\mathbb R}^{n}\) to zonoids in infinite dimensional Banach spaces and show the following equivalent conditions on a zonoid \(Z\): (i) \(Z\) determines univocally the associated conical measure; (ii) there exists a vector measure such that every ...

Minimal decompositions in partially ordered normed vector spaces

Mathematical Proceedings of the Cambridge Philosophical Society, 1968
In this paper we study partially ordered vector spaces X whose positive cone K possesses a base which defines a norm in X. A positive decomposition x = y − z of the element x is said to be minimal if ‖x‖ = ‖y‖ + ‖z‖. We proved in (6) that the property that every element of X has a unique minimal decomposition is equivalent to an intersection property ...

Doob's decomposition of set-valued submartingales via ordered near vector spaces

Quaestiones Mathematicae, 2009
We use ideas from measure-free martingale theory and R˚adstr¨om’ completion of a near vector space to derive a Doob decomposition of submartingales in ordered near vector spaces. As a special cases thereof, we obtain the Doob decomposition of set-valued submartingales, as noted by Daures, Ni and Zhang, and an analogue of the Doob ...

BRM technique for space vector decomposition reactive power of SPIM

Proceedings of the IEEE 1999 International Conference on Power Electronics and Drive Systems. PEDS'99 (Cat. No.99TH8475), 1999
This research paper proposes a control technique for single-phase induction motors (SPIMs) by using binary rate modulation (BRM). The BRM is composed of 8 independent patterns; these patterns can be linearly combined into 255 pattern forms and then transmitted to control motor speed.

Vector space decomposition of reactive power for periodic nonsinusoidal signals

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Fundamental Theory and Applications, 1997
A vector space is used to represent periodic voltage and current signals in a single port electrical network. This representation is convenient for expressing time average power quantities, such as average power, apparent power, and certain definitions of reactive power.

A Vector Space Decomposition Based Space Vector PWM Algorithm for a Three-Level Seven-Phase Voltage Source Inverter

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2013
This paper presents a novel modulation strategy for a seven-phase three-level inverter, aimed at variable-speed drive applications. Developed space vector pulsewidth modulation (SVPWM) strategy is based on vector space decomposition (VSD) approach and an analysis of multidimensional space vector projections in mutually orthogonal planes.
