Generation of THz vector and scalar vortex beams by optical rectification along threefold symmetry axis in zinc blende crystals

open access: yesAPL Photonics
Synthesis of THz frequency fields with generalized orbital angular momentum, the so called higher-order Poincaré beams are of interest to future communications systems and charged particle accelerators.

VECTOR VORTEX HOLOGRAPHIC GRATINGS INSCRIBED IN AZOBENZENE-CONTAINING POLYMER FILMS AND ITS DIFFRACTION FEATURES [PDF]

open access: yes
"Holographic vector vortex gratings are inscribed by the superposition of two orthogonal vector vortex beams subtending a small angle with respect to the normal vector of the photoanisotropic recording medium.

Single-pass, second harmonic generation of ultrafast, higher order vector vortex beams at blue

open access: yes, 2019
We report a novel experimental scheme for single-pass second harmonic generation (SHG) of vector vortex beam in the blue. Using an ultrafast Ti:Sapphire laser of pulse width ~17 fs and a set of spiral phase plates in polarization based Mach-Zehnder ...

3D‐Printing Aided Rapid Prototyping of Pretensioned Tensegrity Structures for Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Printing, injection molding, and assembly (PMA) is a method for rapid prototyping mesoscale, topologically complex, and tensioned tensegrity structures. In combination with PMA method, two mold design strategies: modular mold and compact channel layout, enable efficiency and scalability for tensegrity fabrication.

Gut Mycobiota‐Associated Tryptophan Catabolites Protect Against Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence suggests that the intestinal microbiota participates in the progression of metabolic dysfunction‐associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) through microbiota‐host interaction. However, the beneficial role of commensal mycobiota in MASLD progression remains poorly understood.

Switchable generation and dynamic evolution of vector vortex beams

open access: yesOptics Express
The vector vortex beams (VVBs) are endowed with helical phase and vector polarization. The rich optical properties of VVBs have attracted extensive concern. Here the geometric phase is applied to manipulate both the phase and polarization of light for switchable generation of VVBs by vortex plates.
