Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Research on Yaw Moment Control System for Race Cars Using Drive and Brake Torques

open access: yesVehicles, 2023
The yaw acceleration required for circuit driving is determined by the time variation of the yaw rate due to two factors: corner radius and velocity at the center of gravity. Torque vectoring systems have the advantage where the yaw moment can be changed

Performance Improvement of Sparse Matrix Vector Product on Vector Machines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Many applications based on finite element and finite difference methods include the solution of large sparse linear systems using preconditioned iterative methods. Matrix vector multiplication is one of the key operations that has a significant impact on the performance of any iterative solver.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Fluidic Vectoring of a Planar Incompressible Jet Flow

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
This paper presents an experimental, a numerical and a theoretical analysis of the performances of a fluidic vectoring device for controlling the direction of a turbulent, bi-dimensional and low Mach number (incompressible) jet flow.

The Sub-Band Vectoring Technique for Multi-Operator Environments

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2016
Self- and alien-far end cross talk (FEXT) disturbances on the same cable severely limit performance in the commonly employed VDSL2 17a (0 - 17.6 MHz) standard profile.

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Numerical Analysis of Bypass Mass Injection on Thrust Vectoring of Supersonic Nozzle

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
High speed aerospace applications require rapid control of thrust (i.e. thrust vectoring) in order to achieve better manoeuvrability. Among the existing technologies, shock vector control is one of the efficient ways to achieve thrust vectoring.

Numerical investigation of freestream flow effects on thrust vector control performance

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2018
The current research attempted to apply a numerical investigation for external freestream-flow influence on thrust-vector control. The freestream-flow Mach numbers varying from 0.05 to 1.1 were studied at different flow conditions. Computational modeling
