VEGAS

Proceedings of the 19th ACM/SIGDA international symposium on Field programmable gate arrays, 2011
This paper presents VEGAS, a new soft vector architecture, in which the vector processor reads and writes directly to a scratchpad memory instead of a vector register file. The scratchpad memory is a more efficient storage medium than a vector register file, allowing up to 9x more data elements to fit into on-chip memory.

Understanding TCP vegas

Proceedings of the 2001 ACM SIGMETRICS international conference on Measurement and modeling of computer systems, 2001
This paper presents a model of the TCP Vegas congestion control mechanism as a distributed optimization algorithm. Doing so has three important benefits. First, it helps us gain a fundamental understanding of why TCP Vegas works, and an appreciation of its limitations.

ISOPHOT Observations of Vega and Vega-Like Stars

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1997
Detailed ISOPHOT observations of the far infrared excess of α Lyrae (Vega) are presented. The data comprise photometry in the range 25µm to 200µm and high resolution 60µm scan data to compare with 60µm and 90µm oversampled maps. The dust disk around Vega is clearly resolved.

TCP Vegas

Proceedings of the conference on Communications architectures, protocols and applications - SIGCOMM '94, 1994
Vegas is a new implementation of TCP that achieves between 40 and 70% better throughput, with one-fifth to one-half the losses, as compared to the implementation of TCP in the Reno distribution of BSD Unix. This paper motivates and describes the three key techniques employed by Vegas, and presents the results of a comprehensive experimental performance
