Integrated Use of Oxidative Stress and Histological Biomarkers of T. tinca as Indicators of 17‐Alpha‐Ethynylestradiol Exposure

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, Volume 41, Issue 1, Page 49-67, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The potential adverse effects of 17‐alpha‐ethynylestradiol (50, 100, and 500 μg EE2/kg b.w., for 30 days) on tench ( Tinca tinca ) were evaluated by integrating biomarkers including physiological (hepato‐somatic index, spleen‐somatic index, and hematocrit), oxidative stress (catalase, glutathione peroxidase, and glutathione reductase ...

Anticoagulant selection in relation to the SAMe-TT2R2 score in patients with atrial fibrillation: The GLORIA-AF registry

open access: yesHellenic Journal of Cardiology, 2021
Aim: The SAMe-TT2R2 score helps identify patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) likely to have poor anticoagulation control during anticoagulation with vitamin K antagonists (VKA) and those with scores >2 might be better managed with a target-specific ...

Comparative Analysis of Growth Performance, Intestinal Enzyme and Body Composition of Common Carp (Cyprinus carpio) Cultured in Different C/N Ratio of Biofloc System

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2025.
ABSTRACT Biofloc technology (BFT), an eco‐friendly aquaculture system, was evaluated for its effects on growth performance, digestive physiology, gut microbiota, and carcass quality in juvenile common carp (Cyprinus carpio) using cane molasses as a carbon source at carbon‐to‐nitrogen (C/N) ratios of 15, 20, and 25.

Exploring the cost-effectiveness of high versus low perioperative fraction of inspired oxygen in the prevention of surgical site infections among abdominal surgery patients in three low- and middle-income countries

open access: yesBJA Open, 2023
Background: This study assessed the potential cost-effectiveness of high (80–100%) vs low (21–35%) fraction of inspired oxygen (FiO2) at preventing surgical site infections (SSIs) after abdominal surgery in Nigeria, India, and South Africa.

Utilization of Spent Coffee Grounds as an Antioxidant Dietary Fiber in Beef Patties: Oxidative Stability, Texture Properties, and Molecular Docking

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 10, October 2025.
SCG enhanced the dietary fiber content and provided antioxidant protection against lipid oxidation in beef patties during storage. Molecular docking results also confirmed strong interactions, especially for chlorogenic acid, supporting the potential of SCG as a functional and sustainable ingredient in meat products. ABSTRACT Spent coffee grounds (SCG)

Fish Behaviour in a Vertical Slot Fishway: Multi‐Species Upstream Passage Success, Size Selectivity and Diel Passage Patterns in a Large Italian River

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, Volume 41, Issue 4, Page 849-863, May 2025.
ABSTRACT Hydropower dams come with high ecological and social costs, not least concerning longitudinal connectivity in rivers, which causes declines and sometimes local extinctions of fish species. Fishways are widely used to allow fish to pass dams, but their efficiency is highly variable between species and sites.

The Swimming Performance and Transcriptomic Insights Into Diverse Gene Regulation in Grass Carp Brain Under Water Velocity Stress

open access: yesWater Resources Research, Volume 61, Issue 3, March 2025.
The grass carp was treated under different water flow stress (0.5, 1, 1.5 BL/s) using open recirculating system. The water flow stressed fish were further tested for swimming performance, which showed a significant decreased in swimming performance in fish group treated in high water velocity.

Cell Death Mechanisms Produced by Carbon‐Based Nanoparticles

open access: yesJournal of Nanotechnology, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Using carbon‐based nanoparticles, such as diamond, graphite, fullerene, and nanotubes, has increased their research as possible strategies for drug delivery to control diseases, especially cancer. However, because these materials, when interacting with the living environment, release substances that are capable of inducing cell death by themselves, it ...
