Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Using organic fertilizers to increase crop yield, economic growth, and soil quality in a temperate farmland [PDF]
We used a constant total N application base rate to conduct a two-year field experiment comparing the effects of three organic fertilizers (rapeseed meal (RSM), soybean meal (SBM), and cattle manure (CM)) on the crop yield, economic growth, and soil ...

ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Comparisons of weed community, soil health and economic performance between wheat-maize and garlic-soybean rotation systems under different weed managements [PDF]
This study compared the impacts of different weed managements on weed community, soil health and economic performance between the wheat–maize (WM) and garlic–soybean (GS) rotations.

Vegetation dynamics and dynamic vegetation science* [PDF]
his contribution presents a review of the development of the study of vegetation dynamics since 1979, in the framework of a jubilee meeting on progress in the study of vegetation. However, an exhaustive review is both impossible and unnecessary.

Widespread shrub encroachment in grasslands can lead to changes in soil aggregates and soil organic carbon (SOC), especially in deep soils. Soil aggregates physicochemically protect SOC and thus affect soil carbon sequestration.
