Vegetation classification of Stipa steppes in China, with reference to the International Vegetation Classification

open access: yesVegetation Classification and Survey, 2022
Aims: The vegetation classification system of China (China-VCS) is not completed. Stipa steppes are the most important steppes in China. Here we made optimal use of available plot data to classify Stipa steppes into associations in a way that is consistent with International Vegetation Classification.

Sustainable bioplastics manufacturing from renewable sources

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Bioplastics are manufactured by using polymers from different bio‐based sources. These novel materials not only offer biodegradability but also possess various functional properties that make them suitable for diverse applications. Recent developments in the preparation of bioplastics are reported, highlighting the distinct properties of each type of ...

FOUR YEARS OF UNMANNED AERIAL SYSTEM IMAGERY REVEALS VEGETATION CHANGE IN A SUB-ARCTIC MIRE DUE TO PERMAFROST THAW [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Warming trends in sub-arctic regions have resulted in thawing of permafrost which in turn induces change in vegetation across peatlands both in areal extent and composition. Collapse of palsas (i.e.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.
